Schrumpf! NATURE:SOUND:SPACE
A family concert with Ensemble LUX:NM
Saturday 5 July, 2025
See day program >
At SCHRUMPF!, Berlin-based ensembles present their latest productions in a family-friendly format – and everyone can join in!
Over the river and through the woods… where will LUX:NM take us? The ensemble paints nature with sound, featuring instruments like the saxophone and cello alongside sounds of real insects, trees, and animals! LUX:NM explores the intersection of instrumental and natural sounds, performing works by a variety of composers who have translated natural landscapes into music. After listening, we’ll become explorers ourselves – improvising together and heading out into the wild to share our own sounds in the open air on the grounds of ZK/U.
SCHRUMPF! is about discovering new art forms, exploring places, trying out movements, and investigating sounds. The artistic director of the project, Daniella Strasfogel, is a violinist, performer, and arts educator based in Berlin. She is a founding member of the Berlin soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop. In 2018, Strasfogel launched the audience discussion series »The Artist Talk!« at Kaleidoskop, creating a platform for dialogue between artists and audiences. She later founded LOUDsoft, driven by the desire to create multidimensional musical experiences for and with families. The initiative’s first production, »HopSkipJump – Family Concerts for All the Senses« (2019), included 13 performances in Berlin.
