Alexandra Cárdenas – Scripting Sound: Artistic Practices in Live Coding
Access to the workshop is limited to 12 participants.
in englischer Sprache / in English
Admission: 6 € / Free for Holder of Day Ticket or Festival Pass.
Scripting Sound invites participants to explore live coding as an artistic practice, where digital technology becomes a musical interface, a tool for improvisation, and a language for sonic expression. Using the browser-based platform Strudel, we will engage with code as both material and method, moving beyond syntax to uncover the expressive and improvisational potential of scripted sound. The workshop approaches live coding as a way to rethink the relationship between sound, technology, and performance. Participants will learn to compose music through code, experimenting with rhythm, structure, and transformation in real time. The workshop will also reflect upon the creative and cultural dimensions of live coding, encouraging participants to engage with digital tools not just as coders or musicians, but as artists who use digital technology as a means of expression.
The workshop is open to anyone curious about sound, creativity, and new ways of making music.
