Sigalit Landau, born in Jerusalem, is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans installation, video art, photography, and sculpture. Landau graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem in 1994. After spending several years in Europe and the United States, she returned to Tel Aviv. Over the course of her career, Landau has received numerous prestigious awards, including the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Grant in 1994 and the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Republic in 2017. That same year, she was also awarded an honorary doctorate from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Her work has been exhibited in museums and leading venues around the world, including documenta X in Kassel, the Venice Biennale (1997, 2011), and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
