Robyn Schulkowsky is a percussionist from the USA. Her continuous exploration of new sonic dimensions has led to the development of new and unusual musical instruments. She has premiered and recorded some of the most important solo percussion works of the 20th and 21st centuries, working with the composers Karlheinz Stockhausen, Iannis Xenakis, and Morton Feldman. Since founding RhythmLab in 1998, she has led percussion workshops in countless cities. An active musician on five continents, Robyn Schulkowsky moved to Germany during the heyday of experimental and adventurous artistic exchanges. Her curiosity and versatility as a musician and composer has connected her with exceptional duo partners, including collaborations with Drummer Kofi Ghanaba, visual artist Guenther Uecker, and choreographers such as Merce Cunningham and Sasha Waltz.
