Sophie Søs Meyer is a composer and violinist. Her exploration of processes of change is guided by her interest in object-oriented ontology, the attribution of autonomous power to objects, which is based on the idea that objects not only interact with each other, but also with us. Her most recent compositions in particular focus on expressing the transformative processes of light-sensitive beings through sound. Sophie Meyer studied composition with Helena Tulve at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater in Tallinn, where she received her master’s degree. In 2023, she received the Anne Marie and Carl Nielsen Talent prize. She lives in Copenhagen.
